Terms of Service
Terms and Terminology
In these Terms of Service, references such as “our”, “we”, “us”, “I” and “PixelFixers” refers to Danny Williamson trading as PixelFixers.
The “client” or “customer” refers to any person, persons or business that use any of the “PixelFixers” services, website or interact with “PixelFixers”.
While we will make every reasonable effort to preserve the integrity of a device left for repair or service, the Client agrees not to hold “PixelFixers” liable for any accidental damage to said device, including but not limited to scratches, casing cracks, deformations, theft of the equipment etc.
We cannot be held responsible for any of the following during a repair or service:
- any financial loss, or loss and interruption to business or contracts or loss of goodwill
- any failure by you to follow our reasonable advice, recommendations or instructions
- any losses or issues you may suffer due to your use of (or failure to use) any anti-virus or security software
- any losses from unlicensed software
- any loss that is not reasonably foreseeable.
Whilst we will use our best efforts to minimise disruption to your system, we cannot be responsible for any unforeseen consequences of our services.
Our services may affect manufacturer warranty validity. It is your responsibility to assess the effect of our services on any manufacturer’s warranty and take appropriate action.
While we try to be as thorough as possible with all estimates, we do not guarantee that our estimate is all-inclusive and final.
Often, it is very difficult or impossible to identify every problem affecting a device until some work is performed. Our estimates may evolve or change during servicing your device. If our technicians need to update the estimate, we will let you know as soon as possible before we continue the service. All changes MUST be approved by you before we move on with any work.
Our initial estimate will always remain valid within the scope of the services it was originally attached to, though we may advise you that the original service may have become unnecessary or unlikely to resolve the issue.
Warranties & Warranty Repairs
We provide a 90-day warranty on repairs and parts we have supplied and fitted (unless otherwise stated).
We will perform the repair again at no extra cost to you if your device malfunctions or fails within the warranty period. The issue must be related to the original work order, if the issue is unrelated, you will be notified about the repair cost before we move forward with the repair.
No refunds are issued before we attempt the repair again so we can verify the validity of the claim. Refunds are only issued if we are not able to fix your device.
If your device qualifies for the warranty repair, you are responsible for shipping the device back to us and we will cover return shipping.
Warranty is voided by further physical damage to the device, negligence, or liquid damage. Our warranty excludes repairs to hardware/software that has been fixed/patched to work for a limited time e.g. An item that is starting to fail, or could fail, and has been temporarily fixed.
We do not offer warranties or guarantees, explicit or implicit, on any of the following:
- Any service using parts not purchased through us
- New symptoms/issues not directly tied to the original service within the 90 day guarantee period
- Installing new hardware or modifying existing hardware in the 90 day guarantee period
- Any software issues, including virus removal, Operating system installation
We pride ourselves on the speed of our repairs, however many of the factors that determine the length of your repair are beyond our control. As such, we will attempt to service your device as soon as possible in the order it was received. Many of our repairs are completed within forty-eight (48) hours, however, we offer no guarantees of how long the repair(s) will take.
In situations where repairs take longer, we will keep you up to date via Email through our in-house job tracking system or via phone calls.
While we take every precaution possible to make sure the integrity, security and safety of your data are unaffected, we cannot assume liability for any lost data as a result of services performed by PixelFixers.
If we are aware that a procedure may result in loss of data, we will inform you of the possibility, what data may be affected, and will offer to back your data up at an additional cost.
However, due to the complex nature of electronic devices, we cannot in advance predict what may happen to your data in every situation. We strongly encourage you to back up any important files and documents before having your device repaired and or serviced.
Abandoned Items & Storage Fees
Due to our limited storage capacity, you have ninety (90) days from the date of repair completion in the case of any repaired or serviced device or, if your device is Beyond Economic Repair (BER) or irreparable, thirty (30) days to collect the item that has been left with us.
After the relevant period has expired we will consider your device abandoned and legal title will immediately transfer to Danny Williamson and his trading names and be considered their property and will then be disposed of. If there is any surplus-value it will be held for your collection for one year and then given to a local charity.
Just before these periods, we will attempt to contact you for a final time by email, SMS & telephone call via the contact details you have left us (it is your responsibility to make sure we have correct and up to date contact information for you).
We will then dispose of the goods to recover our costs and expenses whilst destroying any data-bearing medium. As stated any surplus value will be held for your collection for one year and then given to a local charity.
You must pick up your equipment on time or make arrangements with PixelFixers to store your equipment until you can pick it up. If you make arrangements to pick up after 90 days, you will be billed £25 a month for storage.
